Chongqing Testing Center for Highway Engineering，affiliated to Chongqing Communications Research and Design Institute (CCRDI), is the leading comprehensive institution which conducts evaluating and testing for highway engineering in western area of China. It owns a Grade A certificate of evaluating and testing of highway engineering issued by the Ministry of Communications in June 1998. This Center has passed through measurement authentication by the National Technical Supervisory Bureau in December 2000, and in 2004, the Center attained the authentication by the State Laboratory.

It is engaged in assessment of products for highway engineering and municipal engineering as well as the quality control assessments of highway engineering. Up to now, there are six laboratories equipped with more than 320 sets of experiment facilities in the center, including soil and rock engineering inspection laboratory, earthwork composing materials laboratory, asphalt pavement materials laboratory，cement pavement materials laboratory, bridge structural inspection laboratory and tunnel inspection laboratory.

The center embarks on evaluating and testing in engineering control in construction processes for both bridges and tunnels with any structure, in engineering products, like anchorage, cable and facilities of ventilation, fire control and illumination, as well as in engineering materials.
