Engineering Structural Dynamics Testing Laboratory of Chongqing Communications Research and Design Institute(CCRDI) is not only an earthquake engineering research and development center for civil engineering structure, but also one of the biggest base for structural dynamics test in China. Equipped with the most advanced large test facilities such as the seismic simulation test system, multi-channel structural test system and dynamic universal material test machine, data acquisition and analysis system etc., together with one of the largest assemblies of reaction wall/strong floor system in China, this center is capable of carrying out seismic simulation tests, structural fatigue tests, and various other laboratory or field static and dynamic tests.

Seismic simulation testing system
The seismic simulation testing system consists of two six-degree-of-freedom tables powered by an expandable 1100kW hydraulic supply which providing flows of up to 1980 l/min at a supply pressure of 280 bar.

Both tables are mounted on a common rail system with one table fixed, and the other table movable from 2 to 20 meters separation. The digital control system allows selection of independent, related and combined modes of operation under earthquake simulation.

The Dual Multi-Axis Shake Table System allows scaled models of bridges to be tested simulating full-scale bridges with spans up to 1000 meters.

This System is the first of its kind in the World and breaks new ground in control technology by allowing accurate control of acceleration and differential displacement time histories in twelve degrees of freedom.
